What is Sinusitis?

Sinuses are the hallow spaces filled with air leading to nose cavity. These sinuses have the same mucous membrane lining as we have in our nose. This membrane traps the dirt and other external particle and hence keeps the nose free from dirt. When these sinuses are affected and inflammation occurs it is called sinusitis. 

This inflation leads to irritation in the nose and the person suffering from sinusitis may experience watery running nose, difficult to breathe and always a blocked air passage. 

There are different types of Sinusitis like-

a). Maxillary Sinusitis

b). Frontal Sinusitis

c). Ethmoid Sinusitis

d). Sphenoid Sinusitis

It is a myth that sinusitis is liked with asthma as the can be many other reasons that can cause the inflammation of sinuses. A sinusitis lasting time depends on its cause.

How it is caused?

There can be multiple reasons that can cause sinusitis and the most common one is the viral infection which lasts over 10 days of course time. There are two main types of sinusitis which is acute and chronic. The Acute sinusitis is often caused by the common cold. It can also be caused by bacteria, allergies, or a fungal infection. In this the sinuses starts to swollen and cases pain. 

The other type is the chronic which lasts for at least 12 weeks and also has a recurring tendency. Person who is suffering from chronic sinusitis may find it difficult to breathe and also have a headache trouble. 

Some of the symptoms of Acute Sinusitis are-

a). Facial Pain and Pressure

b). Blocked Nose

c). Nasal Discharge

d). Poor Sense of Smell

e). Congestion

f). Cough

There can be many other reasons that can cause sinusitis. This sinusitis can be treated by antibiotics and other medicines. If you are allergic to these medicines you can also go the Ayurveda style.

Nasya Treatment

The last treatment which cures the sinusitis is the Nasya Treatment which is the nose cleaning treatment. 

In this nasya allergy treatment procedure the natural herbal drugs are directed through the nose and hence clean the system and cure you from the sinusitis.
